Aims and Scope

Aims

The journal of Sociological Research in Higher Education (SRHE) is a peer-reviewed, semiannual academic journal published by the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili. The journal is dedicated to advancing sociological knowledge and theory in the field of higher education by providing an interdisciplinary platform for the critical and context-sensitive analysis of higher education systems, institutions, and lived experiences. The primary aim of the journal is to foster original theoretical, empirical, and methodological scholarship that examines the complex and reciprocal relationships between higher education and broader social structures, cultures, and inequalities. By promoting rigorous peer review, theoretical pluralism, and methodological diversity, SRHE seeks to bridge sociological theory and higher education research, offering a forum for dialogue among scholars, practitioners, and policymakers across diverse national and regional contexts. Ultimately, the journal aspires to illuminate how higher education both shapes and is shaped by social forces, thereby contributing to a deeper understanding of one of the most dynamic and consequential institutional fields of the modern world.
