Guide for Authors

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines and Submission Requirements

The journal of Sociological Research in Higher Education (SRHE) aims to promote and develop a sociological culture in higher education within the country, provide specialized resources, and facilitate the transfer and exchange of new scientific experiences and achievements at national and international levels. Accordingly, to expedite the review process and ensure timely publication, all esteemed university professors, scholar-researchers, academic authors, and non-academic researchers interested in submitting their work to this journal are requested to observe the following guidelines:

Rules for the Arrangement of References at the End of the Manuscript

  • The list of cited references in Persian must appear under the heading "منابع" and in English under the heading "References" (without quotation marks or brackets).

  • This list must exclusively include works cited in the text and must not contain additional notes or referential remarks.

  • This list must not include "for further reading" sources.

  • Subsequent lines of each entry must be indented.

  • References must be arranged alphabetically by the surname of the first author or by the initial element of the citation phrase.

  • If multiple works by the same author are cited, references must be arranged chronologically from oldest to most recent (a, b, c).

  • In cases where multiple works by the same author are cited, the surname and given name of the author must be repeated.

Important Notes:

  1. If the aforementioned citation style and the journal's formatting requirements are not observed, the manuscript will be returned to the authors for revision. It is evident that this will prolong the publication process.

  2. Students cannot serve as the corresponding author of a manuscript, even if the manuscript is derived from the student's own thesis. The supervisor must assume responsibility for the accuracy and copyright compliance of the data presented in the student's thesis and manuscript (peripheral issues concerning copyright compliance and plagiarism are the supervisor's responsibility). Conversely, the supervisor cannot serve as the first author of a manuscript derived from the student's thesis (as the intellectual contribution belongs to the student). In other words, the supervisor cannot be both the first author and the corresponding author of a manuscript derived from the student's thesis. Accordingly, the student's name must appear first, and the esteemed supervisor must appear as the second author and assume responsibility for the accuracy of the research data. Unfortunately, corresponding authors often enter only their own information at the submission stage, either omitting the supervisor's name or designating themselves as the corresponding author. Any individual/student who submits a manuscript is presumed to be the corresponding author as well. Accordingly, if only their own information is entered, the work is presumed to be sole-authored, and requests to change the order or arrangement of authors will not be accepted. At the journal's discretion, the manuscript may be retracted.

  3. Manuscripts whose research data are more than three years old should not be submitted, as they will not be reviewed.

Required files to be uploaded: The following files must be submitted through the manuscript submission system: 1. The Main Manuscript File (without the author details and prepared based on the provided template, and 2. Title page in the mentioned format (must include the title of the article and the name and surname of all authors). After the manuscript has been received and reviewed, no changes to the order of authors will be accepted.

Journal Article Template: The final version of the manuscript, after completing the review and acceptance process, must be submitted in the journal's article template. Otherwise, it will not be processed.

Note: For final accepted manuscripts, authors must prepare and submit to the journal office, in addition to a short English abstract, an extended English abstract of between 800 and 1,500 words. For editing the English abstract, artificial intelligence may be used for spelling and grammar review and text rewriting; no declaration of AI use is required.
